Cressy Qualifiers (September 21-22, 2013)

This year’s Cressy qualifiers, was a very competitive and interesting event. The regatta consisted of both a very competitive full rig and radial laser fleet. During both days of the event the level of competition was constantly at its highest level, and when coupled with the high wind and intermittent rainstorms, made for very interesting racing. With constant wind shifts and change in windspeed, it kept sailors on their toes in order to perform well. In the full rig division, R.J. Porter came in third place, one place out of qualifying for nationals, and George Ernst came in ninth. After heavy competition in the radial fleet, Fin Elliott finished tenth overall, with Graham Post in a close eleventh. Overall the whole team put up an impressive effort in very tough conditions, and represented Loyola well.

Culver Invite (September 21-22, 2013)

Loyola took three teams to Culver Academy in Indiana.  The regatta was a great opportunity for many LA club sailors to participate.  The conditions both days were perfect for sailing.  The team took 7^th overall.

September Scramble (September 14-15, 2013)

Four teams, consisting of 20 Loyola sailors, competed in Pewaukee, WI.  Winds were light and variable both days making racing conditions a challenge.  Congrats to Finn Elliot and Liz Gambacorta for placing 1^st in the B division which helped Loyola place 1^st overall as a team.

Kick Off Classic (September 7-8, 2013)

Hosted on home territory at the Sheridan Shore Harbor, we competed with two teams, and three lasers.  The winds were great both days for racing.  Loyola placed 4^th overall, receiving a berth to the Great Lakes Championship to be held in November at Monroe Harbor.  Fin Elliot finished 3^rd in Laser Radials division.  It was a great way to start the season off strong.

National Invitational Team Racing (May 25-26, 2013)

Held in Milwaukee, Wisconsin NIT is an invitational regatta with competitors from the east coast and Midwest.  This regatta was a great opportunity to compete against east coast teams.  The wind was perfect both days for team racing and we were able to sail the complete rotations.  Loyola placed 8th overall.

Baker Qualifier (May 4-5, 2013)

Fifteen teams competed on Lake St. Clair in Grosse Point, MI.  Team racing conditions were slightly challenging due to big waves and light wind both days.  After Saturday's races we qualified for the silver round.  On Sunday we nearly made the gold round but missed qualifying by one win due to a protest.  Loyola finished 7th overall.

Mallory Qualifier (April 27-28, 2013)

Held at Columbia Yacht Club, Chicago, IL.  Twenty five teams from the Midwest competed in fleet racing for a position to qualifier for Mallory Nationals.  The top three teams qualified; Loyola finished 8th overall.  On the first day of sailing there was no wind in the morning, but by one o'clock we were able to start races.  All three of our skippers were able to steer doing well throughout the day.  Racing went late on Saturday afternoon causing the senior girls to rush out to get ready for prom.  Sunday's sailing conditions were good.
